Wayne State University

Dear members of the Wayne State community,

Although we’re still a month away from the first day of fall classes, the school year unofficially kicked off this weekend with the launch of the 2016 admission application.

I’m pleased to report that in addition to our traditional university application, Wayne State is now offering incoming freshmen the option of applying through the Common Application.

Accepted by more than 600 colleges and universities, the Common App simplifies and streamlines the application process, allowing students to enter key information once for multiple institutions. Wayne State is one of 69 new members of this not-for-profit organization, whose goal is to promote equity, access and integrity in the college application process.

Wayne State’s drive to provide access to college education for a wider range of students is the primary reason we became the second public university in Michigan to join the Common App. We look forward to meeting the next generation of intellectuals, innovators and influencers — and helping them take a major step toward a bright future.

Each of us plays a role in recruiting and retaining Wayne State Warriors.  As we gear up to welcome students to campus in just a few weeks, please know that we appreciate your efforts to support and educate our students.
