2016 Brammer Lecture:
Autonomous Vehicles, Their Legacy & Future

Robert Neff, IEEE SEM Chairman | February 24, 2016

What will our life be like with autonomous vehicles? Will it be the anticipated utopia or will there are new concerns that have to be considered? Explore the possibilities with Robert Neff, IEEE SEM Chairman at our 2016 Brammer Lecture on February 24.

Robert Neff, IEEE

This presentation will provide a history of semi-autonomous vehicles and highways going back to 1925, the present features being implemented in automated cars, and where automated vehicles will take us in the future.

Neff was Technical Leader for his company’s participation in the 1997 National Automated Highway Demonstration where autonomous vehicles were successfully demonstrated to be technologically feasible on an automated highway in San Diego. He has served since January 2014 as Chairman of IEEE Southeastern Michigan (SEM) Section and since 2007 as Marketing Chairman of IEEE SEM EMC Society.

The lecture will take place on February 24 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Auditorium 1507 in the College of Engineering. Semi-autonomous vehicles will be on display! Full details available here.
