Mariam Bazzi, '05, an assistant prosecuting attorney for Wayne County and a trustee on the Dearborn Board of Education, was appointed to a three-year term on the state's Middle Eastern American Affairs Commission.

Adam Blaylock, '13, Bloomfield High School's assistant forensic coach, was named the Michigan Speech Coaches Inc. High School Assistant Coach of the Year 2015.

Terry Bonnette, '04, Nemeth Law partner, presented "Managing Religion in Long-Term Care" at the Healthcare Association of Michigan Center for Assisted Living conference in Marquette. At the Nemeth Law Raising the Bar series, Bonnette and Erin Behler, '09, presented "Employee Leave Policies that Work."

Matthew Casey, '90, a partner at Warner Norcross & Judd LLP, was named to the WSU School of Business Board of Visitors.

Gene Esshaki, '74, wrote an article, "Judicial Intervention in Arbitration Proceedings Pre-Award," published in the June Michigan Bar Journal.

John Gonway, '96, joined the Troy office of Dickinson Wright PLLC as a member. Gonway specializes in real estate, mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions and secured lending.

Linda Hallmark, '77, chief judge pro tem of Oakland County Probate Court, served as chairperson for the 18th annual Governor's Task Force on Child Abuse and Neglect Summit in Traverse City. She also was honored for 35 years of service to the county.

State Rep. Kurt Heise, '91, was featured in the June Michigan Bar Journal.

Kathleen Howard, '14, co-wrote an article, "Tribal Court Peacemaking: A Model for the Michigan State Court System?" published in the June Michigan Bar Journal.

Robert Iwrey, '93, was named by the American Health Lawyers Association as one of 30 Pro Bono Health Champions for his work with Beaumont Children's Hospital NoBLE Anti-Bullying Program and the Oakland County Medical Society. He is a founding shareholder of The Health Law Partners.

Michael Klinefelt, '12, was appointed to serve out a term on the Eastpointe City Council.

Michael Leib, '79, launched LeibADR in Bloomfield Hills to provide metro Detroit law firms and the courts with mediation and arbitration services. Leib retired from trial law in 2014.

Evan Leibhan, '07, a partner in Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn LLP's Corporate Department, was elected president of Kadima's board of directors. Kadima is a 30-year-old social service agency serving individuals with mental illness in Oakland County.  

Garey Lindsay, '77, was named regional director of the National Labor Relations Board Regional Office in Cincinnati.

Cristina Lockwood, '91, received the 2015 Barnes Faculty Scholar Award from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, where she is an associate professor. The award recognizes a faculty member's outstanding scholarship, teaching excellence and public service. 

Jonathan Mann, '04, became board certified in appellate practice by the Florida Bar. He is with the Law Offices of Robin Bresky in Boca Raton, Fla.

Bruce Miller, '54, of Miller Cohen PLC was awarded the annual Spirit of King Community Service Award by UAW Local 600.

Cherie Morganroth, '92, was featured in a Legal News article, "Following in Father's Footsteps." She is a partner with Morganroth & Morganroth.  

William Murphy, '70, chief judge of the Michigan Court of Appeals, was honored with the Judicial Excellence Award by the Michigan Association for Justice at its annual banquet.

Patricia Nemeth, LL.M. '84, founder of Nemeth Law PC, and partners Susan Koval and Thomas Schramm, '99, presented "Litigating the Pregnancy Discrimination Claim" to a large industry trade group in Cleveland.

Dana Nessel, '94, was the focus of a Pride Source article, '' 'You can't win a case that you never file,' '' after the June Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage. She was a member of the plaintiffs' legal team in the DeBoer et al v. Snyder lawsuit over same-sex marriage - one of the cases in the decision before the Supreme Court. Nessel of Plymouth practices with Nessel & Kessel Law.

Samantha Orvis, '11, joined Collins Einhorn Farrell PC in the firm's general and automotive liability practice group. Orvis will focus on the defense of first- and third-party automobile litigation.

William Perrone, '77, managing member of Dykema's Lansing office, was appointed to the Michigan Board of Dentistry for a four-year term.

Shannon Phillips, '08, has joined the insurance coverage practice group of Collins Einhorn Farrell PC.

Timothy Pratcshler, '03, was admitted as a principal in the tax practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, leading the firm's Greater Michigan Market controversy practice.

Margaret Scott, '88, executive partner at Secrest Wardle, was named chair of Michigan Arson Prevention Committee's Government Resources Committee.

Suzanne Sukkar, '04, of counsel at Dickinson Wright PLLC, was appointed to a three-year term on the state's Middle Eastern American Affairs Commission.

Stephen Tupper, '98, was the subject of a full-page feature story in the Legal News focusing on his service with the Civil Air Patrol.

Jessica Woll, '93, managing partner of Woll & Woll PC, hosted the Fine Art of Summer fundraiser to benefit the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center.
