Wayne Law Commencement Ceremony, May 17

This year's Commencement Ceremony is scheduled for Monday, May 17, 2010 in Orchestra Hall. Legal Adviser to the U.S. Department of State Harold Hongju Koh will serve as Commencement Speaker and Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Marilyn Kelly, '71, will be recognized as a 2010 Distinguished Alumni Award recipient.

Wayne Law goes green, enrolls in ABA-EPA Climate Challenge

Wayne Law students, faculty and staff members are leading the way on a new environmental initiative that has changed day-to-day operations at the Law School. As a result of their efforts, Wayne Law is pleased to announce its official enrollment in the American Bar Association-U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Law Office Climate Challenge in the paper management and Energy Star programs.

Wayne Law students elect 2010-2011 Student Board of Governors, vote Lund and Hall Professors of the Year

Wayne Law students recently elected the 2010-2011 Student Board of Governors (SBG). They also voted Assistant Professor Christopher Lund first-year Professor of the Year and Assistant Professor Noah Hall upperclass Professor of the Year.

Winter 2010 Student Trial Advocacy Program (Mock Trial) in-house competition results

The Winter 2010 Student Trial Advocacy Program (Mock Trial) in-house competition was held March 11 in the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium. The final round featured Sade Griffin and Katie Grace representing the Plaintiff as they battled for the championship title against Laura Kubit and Samantha Orvis, who represented the Defendant. The Honorable James Plakas from the 35th District Court presided.

Wayne Law announces new Student Voluntary Pro Bono Program

Wayne Law is pleased to announce its new Student Voluntary Pro Bono Program, which will let students use their professional training to benefit underserved populations and the community at large. Wayne Law Director of Career Services Diane Fears has been named director of the new program.

Wayne Law announces new International Public Interest Law Fellowship Program

The Program for International Legal Studies at Wayne Law announced a summer internship scholarship program that will allow students to gain practical legal experience in Latin America, southeast and central Asia, Africa and Europe.
