Wayne Law Ranks in Top 40 Law Schools Nationwide in 2010 Super Lawyers Listing

Wayne Law was ranked as a top 40 law school in the 2010 Super Lawyers listing published Nov. 17, 2009. The list, which ranks law schools based on the number of graduates selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers magazine, placed Wayne Law 37th out of 180 law schools nationwide.

Wayne Law Congratulates Arthur Neef Moot Court Competition Winners

Wayne Law congratulates second-year students Ruth Lyons and Anna Heinl on their winning performance in this year’s Arthur Neef Moot Court Competition. Second-year students Tyler Roebke and Krista Elsasser placed second in the competition, which was held Nov. 5, 2009, at the Michigan Hall of Justice.

Law Alumni Association Kicks into High Gear

The Law Alumni Association (LAA) has wrapped up an event-filled 2008-2009 term, and is looking forward to the 2009-2010 term. The LAA has hosted three New Lawyer Seminars and three Women in Law panel discussions in the last year alone. In all, about 200 attendees enjoyed the shared knowledge and experience of the speakers. Cocktail receptions were hosted at Centaur Club and Proof Lounge.

24th Annual Ambulance Chase Raises Funds for Cass Community Social Services

The Wayne Law Student Board of Governors raised more than $4,200 for Cass Community Social Services (CCSS) thanks to the 24th annual Ambulance Chase Charity Run/Walk on Sept. 30, 2009.

Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights and Arthur Neef Law Library Host Traveling Art Exhibit

The Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights and the Arthur Neef Law Library are pleased to host a traveling art exhibit titled “Jacob Lawrence and The Legend of John Brown.” The exhibit, designed to display 22 silkscreen prints with image and text that depict the story of abolitionist John Brown, will be open to the public through mid-January 2010.
