Announcement from the Provost - Wayne State University

Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Dawn Medley as associate vice president of enrollment management, effective July 18, 2016. Dawn brings 20 years of enrollment management, financial aid and recruitment experience at institutions of varied sizes and educational emphases. She is well-prepared to use the assets of Wayne State to create a personalized approach to recruit incoming students in support of our urban educational access mission.

Currently, Dawn is a consultant to Wayne State's enrollment management division. In this capacity, she has helped develop plans to establish metrics for measurements and reports, formulated strategies to leverage existing resources to create more integration and partnerships for robust student recruitment, and worked with admissions staff to create a process for a local scholarship program.

Since 2015, she has also worked as dean of enrollment at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, North Carolina, where she supervises the offices of admissions and financial aid as well as graduate, online and international recruitment. She also created a new financial aid and scholarship awarding matrix, streamlined processing in admissions and financial aid, and increased positive feedback to the campus visit program through enhancements and faculty involvement.

Additionally, Dawn has held various positions in enrollment management, marketing, admissions and student success at the University of Arkansas, Southeast Missouri State College, Warren Wilson College, Missouri Valley College and the Forest Institute.

She holds a B.S. from the University of Missouri, an M.S. from Southeast Missouri State University and an Ed.S. from Lindenwood University.

Thanks to the search committee and Associate Vice President for Computing and Information Technology and Chief Information Officer Daren Hubbard (chair) for their excellent work in conducting this search. I also greatly appreciate the service of Associate Vice President for Educational Outreach and International Programs Ahmad Ezzeddine, who oversaw enrollment management as interim vice president.

Please join me in welcoming Dawn to her new role.

Sincerely,

Keith E. Whitfield
Provost
