As part of the global celebration #GivingTuesday, Wayne Law invites alumni, friends, faculty, staff and students to give back with gifts to its new student scholarship fund, Wayne Law Gives, on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Watch for our #GivingTuesday campaign through website, social media, email and other channels. Gifts will be accepted Tuesday, Nov. 29, through WarriorFunder, Wayne State University's crowdfunding website, beginning at midnight and running through 11:59 p.m. that day. Alumni gathered for a Wayne Law Reunion on Friday, Oct. 14, at Int Ice at the MGM Grand Detroit. The reunion honored the classes of 1966, 1976, 1986, 1991, 1996 and 2006.

The Levin Center at Wayne Law and The Constitution Project presented a half-day conference – "A Right to 'Know' or a Right to 'No'?" – Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Washington, D.C. The conference examined the congressional-executive branch struggle over access to information.

Hogan, '09co-authored an article, "The great divide - sorting out method claims and multiple actors," published in the IAM Yearbook: Building IP value in the 21st century 2017, a supplemental to IAM published by Globe Business Media Group - IP Division. They are shareholders at Reising Ethington PC in Troy.

Damon J. Keith featured in Washington Post

 

Judge Damon J. Keith, LL.M. '56, of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit was featured in The Washington Post. Read the story here. He visited Washington, D.C., to screen a documentary about his life in one of Howard University's moot courtrooms, which will be named for him. He also joined luminaries from across the country to celebrate the opening of the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Robert E.L. Wright awarded Distinguished Service Award by State Bar section

 

Robert E.L. Wright, '80, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Michigan. This is the highest honor bestowed by the section. Wright is founder of The Peace Talks PLC in Grand Rapids.

Mignon Lott named agency's Client of the Year Mignon Lott named agency's Client of the Year  

Wayne Law student Mignon Lott was named 2016 Client of the Year by the Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency, an organization that helps people in need in the Detroit area. Lott serves as the Headstart parent committee chairperson, the policy council chairperson, the parent rep on the Wayne Metro Board and the Office of Headstart Region V board parent representative for The Michigan Headstart Association.

She discussed the likely effect that the election of each candidate would have on the U.S. Supreme Court and the state of the law on certain key issues in the next four years and beyond.

He was a guest on Michigan Radio for its report, Environmental group says there's something legally stinky about Detroit's garbage incinerator, and was a guest on WDET for its report, Environmental Advocates Say Detroit Incinerator Violating Clean Air Rules...Again. Schroeck also was quoted in RealClear Life for its report, America's Battle Royale Against Invasive Species.
