• Wayne State offers relief to students affected by government shutdown

Nationally renowned and award-winning researcher H. Richard Milner IV will address the intersection of education and social justice on Jan. 16 at the Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium at the Wayne State Law School. He will be joined by a panel of prominent leaders representing P-12 and higher education, government, and non-profit sectors. Panelists include Detroit Public Schools Community District superintendent Nikolai Vitti; state legislator Rep. Sherry Gay-Dagnogo; WSU associate professor Sandra Gonazales; and Darienne B. Driver, the president/CEO of United Way of Southeastern Michigan.

Wayne State University will host its annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute on January 22 at the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center. The tribute, hosted by the Division of Government and Communiy Affairs, brings together the metro Detroit community to celebrate and honor the life and legacy of Dr. King. This year's featured speaker will be sports journalist Jemelle Hill.
