Elevate Their Voices: Mental Health and Wellness in Communities of Color Elevate Their Voices: Mental Health and Wellness in Communities of Color  

Wayne State University's Association of Black Social Workers student organization will host a diversity-focused forum addressing issues involving academic and living communities in metro Detroit and nationwide. Elevate Their Voices: Mental Health and Wellness in Communities of Color, will be held at 4 p.m. Feb. 28, inside room 0091 of Manoogian Hall, 906 W. Warren Avenue. Forum participants include Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib; former Fox 2 anchor Anqunette Sarfoh; and national social justice activist and cofounder of The Raiz Up, Antonio Rafael.

School of Social Work Diversity Lecture  

The Wayne State School of Social Work will host its 13th annual Diversity Lecture at 3 p.m. March 7, in the Wayne State Law School's Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium. Teresa Mendez, MSW, LCSW-C, LICSW, will present the keynote address, "The Psychology of a City: Race, Violence, and Community." The lecture is free and open to the public.
