"The Fire This Time: Conversations in Black Thought" speaker series examines questions of history, protest, nation, justice and freedom. As part of the series, writers Kiese Laymon and Rae Paris explore radial black love. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held on Thursday, March 28, at 2:45 p.m. at 46 Helen L. DeRoy Auditorium.

2019 Social Entrepreneurship Conference
The Wayne State School of Social Work, the Mike Ilitch School of Business and OptimizeWayne will host the second annual Social Entrepreneurship Conference on Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ilitch School. The event is $10 for Wayne State students and $35 for the public. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Fifth Annual EOA Men of Excellence National Conference
Inspired by former President Barack Obama's "My Brother's Keeper" initiative, this conference targets young men from pre-college and collegiate programs. Attendees will work with TRIO Higher Education Access and community professionals on personal and college planning along with life skills development. The conference will run from May 31 to June 2, and all events will be held at the Wayne State Student Center Building.
