Founded BSW student Kristen Prasiloski and MSW student Tina Zerilli, the SWQA seeks to address the challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual and more) student warrior community through a collaborative-based approach in which all people can advocate, learn and support one another on an individual, group and community level.

Dean Sheryl Kubiak will be working with fellow community members, judges, court administrators, attorneys, probate registers and county clerks to create "One Court of Justice" across Michigan.

With support from WSU Undergraduate Research Opportunity Grant program, five pre-med and business students will put theory into practice as part of Associate Professor Tam Perry’s Aging with Hemophilia Team.

To date, no studies have specifically addressed how students in recovery on such campuses overcome challenges and build community. With funding from BCBS, Social Work Doctoral Student Michael Broman means to change that.

A recent study led by WSU Social Work Assistant Professor Rebeccah Sokol and U-M co-authors Patrick Carter and Marc Zimmerman sheds light on the striking increase in gun purchases during the pandemic and what it may mean for the thousands of American high school teens who die from a firearm injury.

The Social Work Office of Continuing Education has launched 14 new online CE courses on subjects ranging from grief and loss to supervision and telehealth (new courses are at the bottom of the page). These can be completed anytime, anywhere by simply purchasing the course, reviewing the materials and passing the post-test.
