Wayne State among safest campuses in Southeast Michigan

Midtown Detroit, which includes Wayne State’s 200-acre campus, has experienced another year of decreasing crime, a trend that has shown a 55 percent overall decline since 2009. According to the recently released Clery Act reportable 2016 crime statistics, serious crimes such as homicides and assaults continue to reveal a downward movement. Compared to Michigan’s other public universities, Wayne State is one of the safest campuses in Southeast Michigan.

WSU ranked in top 1 percent of universities worldwide  

Wayne State University ranked 201st among more than 27,000 degree-granting institutions of higher education surveyed by the Center for World University Rankings, placing WSU in the top 1 percent worldwide.The rankings measure the quality of education and training of students as well as the prestige of the faculty members and the quality of their research without relying on surveys and university data submissions.

Wayne State launches Warrior Strong marketing campaign  

Wayne State University’s new comprehensive marketing campaign, Warrior Strong, launched Oct. 16, following a year of preparation and planning. Warrior Strong emerged as the overall theme following numerous planning discussions and research conducted by the university’s Office of Marketing and Communications and advertising partner Roundtable6.

New Innovation Hub slated to open Nov. 15  

As one of the nation’s preeminent urban research universities, Wayne State consistently generates important innovations and groundbreaking research. On Nov. 15, the university will launch the Wayne Innovation Hub to coordinate and enhance its programs for entrepreneurship education, technology commercialization, and community partnerships, and to enhance the university’s overall culture of innovation.
