Wayne State announces plans for fall semester

This fall, we look forward to welcoming more students back to campus and providing the opportunities for social interaction and engagement that are vital to the college experience. As we do, the health and safety of our campus community will continue to remain a top priority. We encourage all faculty, staff and students to get the COVID-19 vaccine once they are eligible, and we will continue to follow the guidelines recommended by our Public Health Committee.

Wayne State to streamline communication for current students using artificial intelligence

Students can get overwhelmed by communications and to-do items from various departments, professors, financial aid, advising, groups and organizations. To help them stay informed of important university dates, deadlines and policies, Wayne State offers students the ability to use artificial intelligence (AI) for key information regarding registration, financial aid, accounts receivable, student services and more.

Drs. Kilgore, Zervos discuss their roles in Moderna, Johnson & Johnson vaccines

When the coronavirus pandemic shifted into full swing in March 2020, most people’s lives changed almost overnight. For two Wayne State University faculty members, their work shifted to a brand-new and urgent focus. Paul Kilgore, a Wayne State associate professor of pharmacy practice, and Marcus Zervos, WSU assistant dean of global affairs and division head of infectious diseases at Henry Ford Health System, have served as co-principal investigators on the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccine studies in Detroit. Mayur S. Ramesh, an infectious disease specialist at Henry Ford Health System, was also a co-principal investigator.

New resource will help students with personalized financial wellness

Wayne State University has partnered with iGrad to provide students with access to the award-winning iGrad Financial Literacy platform. The lack of education on personal money management in the United States has resulted in a wide variety of economic and social concerns, the impact of which is felt by Americans of every background, regardless of education level or income. WSU is proud to provide students with the tools and support they need to empower themselves with the knowledge to build a strong foundation for their financial future.

Wayne State University joins campuses in nationwide effort to be “voter friendly”

Wayne State University has been named one of over 231 campuses in 37 states and the District of Columbia designated as a “Voter Friendly Campus.” The initiative, led by national nonpartisan organizations Fair Elections Center’s Campus Vote Project and NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, held participating institutions accountable for planning and implementing practices that encourage their students to register and vote in 2020 elections and in the coming years.
