Results of recent campus vaccination survey encouraging, provide insight for fall
Almost 7,700 Warriors — approximately 25% of the Wayne State community — responded to a campuswide survey in May, providing information that will be helpful in estimating the community’s COVID-19 vaccination status as the university transitions back to campus to prepare for the fall. Overall, survey respondents revealed a high vaccination rate. Three quarters (75.2%) of the respondents (5,570 out 7,404 in weighted data) were fully vaccinated and 84.6% received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Wayne State to serve as anchor institution in Detroit's Choice Neighborhoods Initiative
The City of Detroit has received a Choice Neighborhoods grant by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. As part of this $30 million grant, Wayne State University will support the city’s program to provide economic development initiatives to the Greater Corktown neighborhood. The city engaged the community around creating a framework for the grant beginning in March 2019. At that time, Wayne State’s Center for Urban Studies was selected through a competitive process to serve as the resident needs and evaluation partner.

Housing and Residential Life offers something for everyone in fall 2021
Wayne State University will have a new look this fall with the debut of several retail dining locations, greater flexibility with campus catering and a renovated Chatsworth Suites. Students, faculty and staff returning to Wayne State’s campus will notice these and several other improvements to the dining, retail and housing experience.

'Today@Wayne Podcast' explores issues affecting campus, Detroit and beyond
Capitalizing on its wealth of influencers and thought leaders, Wayne State University has launched the Today@Wayne Podcast, which features interviews with WSU’s most prominent administrators, faculty, staff and alumni about the issues most affecting Detroit and the state. The podcast, which will be released weekly on Tuesday mornings on the university’s website and popular podcasting platforms, will run for 10 weeks during the summer and resume in late August to coincide with the start of the fall semester.
