Wayne State graduates set for career success

From the moment they step onto campus until the day they graduate, Wayne State students gain an outstanding academic education from top-tier, Carnegie R1 faculty who are on the cutting edge of scholarly discovery and use innovative, engaging methods in their teaching that connect to Detroit’s rich resources. Through the College to Career initiative, students put classroom knowledge “to work” in real-world settings and prepare for the rigors and challenges of their future careers. This spring, more than 3,800 Warriors graduated, including many whose applied learning experiences have already kickstarted their careers.

Wayne State ranks in top 1.6% of universities worldwide  

Wayne State University ranks in the top 1.6% of universities worldwide — placing 327th out of nearly 21,000 institutions — according to the 2024 edition of the outcome-based Global 2000 list by the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), the largest academic rankings of global universities.   

Guaranteed-transfer admission partnership with Macomb Community College expands access to college degrees  

Wayne State and Macomb Community College have created a new guaranteed-transfer admission partnership that expands access to college degrees, meaningful careers and economic prosperity.    

Wayne State will not raise housing rates for 2024-25 academic year  

There will be no housing rate increase in Wayne State University residence halls and apartments for the 2024-25 academic year. Compared to other Michigan public universities, WSU campus housing has always been competitively priced. With the past two years of flat to relatively flat room-rate increases for first-year students, WSU’s average cost will remain below the state average of Michigan’s public universities.
