Wayne State Guarantee tuition pledge expands eligibility for more Michigan families
Michigan’s only public, urban research university is expanding access to higher education for Michigan residents by raising the eligibility threshold for its Wayne State Guarantee tuition pledge. Families that have an income of $80,000 or less and assets of $50,000 or less will now qualify for the guarantee. It is also available to students who qualify for the Pell Grant.

Wayne State is committed to making higher education accessible and affordable, with 93% of students receiving some form of financial aid. The 2025-26 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open, and students are encouraged to file early to secure the best possible financial aid package for the upcoming academic year.
