Research Highlight - Dr. Antonia Abbey

In recent years, the White House, Congressional committees, and survivors have demanded solutions to end the high rates of sexual assault and other forms of sexual misconduct which occur on college campuses.  These groups have spotlighted a problem that has often been trivialized, despite consistent reports of disturbingly high rates of sexual violence on college campuses that have been documented in empirical articles since the 1950’s.

Pre-occupational therapy and psychology student Michelle Asiedu took the trip of a lifetime this summer — but don’t call it a vacation. Asiedu went to Ghana, West Africa, on a Medical Brigades trip with Wayne State.

July Undergraduate Spotlight: Darius Ballard

Our July, 2017 Student Spotlight is Darius Ballard. Darius, a senior majoring in psychology, came to Wayne State in 2009 as a transfer student. Like many WSU students, Darius’ journey would not be described as the ‘traditional’ college experience.

Psychology Undergraduate Spencer Genrich Receives Women of Distinction Student Award

Spencer Genrich, a WSU Psychology Undergraduate, has been selected by the WSU President's Commission on the Status of Women to receive the  2017 Woman of Distinction Student Award in recognition of her commitment to issues pertaining to women, diversity equity and inclusion.

Psychology Undergraduates Invited To Join Phi Beta Kappa

Phi Beta Kappa is the nation's oldest academic honor society (founded December 5, 1776); it celebrates and advocates excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. It is a highly selective honor: Only 10% of universities are awarded a Phi Beta Kappa chapter and no school may elect more than 10% of a graduating class. About one college senior out of 100 nationwide will be invited to join Phi Beta Kappa each year.
