Organized by the Coalition of Community Social Workers and hosted by Michigan’s Children and Wayne State’s Transition to Independence Program, the annual legislative forum provided foster care youth the opportunity to testify before legislators, policy makers, and community leaders about their experiences in the child welfare system. The listening panel, comprised of policy makers, legislators, and stakeholders in child welfare, were presented with concerns regarding the child welfare system with suggestions of how to improve current practices. Rep.
