The newly launched Center for Behavioral Health and Justice seeks to assist local communities, organizations, and behavioral health and law enforcement agencies across Michigan in diverting individuals with mental health and substance use disorders from the criminal justice system to appropriate treatment.
The School of Social Work is working to increase mental health awareness and help-seeking among the Wayne State community through a variety of campus-based initiatives that focus on prevention, detection and intervention as well as supports for diverse populations.
Researchers from the School of Social Work are part of a Wayne State University research team that has received a four-year $1.57 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) for a project titled “Water and Health Infrastructure Resilience and Learning” (WHIRL).
