Proceedings from NIH Broadening Experiences in Scientific Training (BEST) Programs BEST practices workshop now available

Following the National Institutions of Health (NIH) BEST Consortium’s BEST Practices Workshop in September 2017, a group of consortium leaders, including Dean Ambika Mathur, worked to develop guidelines for the larger community to support the creation and implementation of inspiring and effective professional development for Ph.D. students and postdoctoral scholars. Resources from these workshops on seminar and course design, internships and experiential learning and data collection are now available on the NIH BEST website.

Broadening Experiences in Scientific Training (BEST) Program

Jan 31: Medpace recruiting event  

Medpace is a global Clinical Research Organization that works with small to mid-size pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies to run clinical trials for FDA or other regulatory body approval. The Medpace team will hold an hour long presentation followed by a Q&A session and pizza.

Phase II Workshops  

These workshops provide a more in-depth, hands-on experience learning about a particular career area in the course of a half-day or daylong Saturday session. Details and registration below.

Jan. 19: Doctoral student writing retreat

 

The WSU Graduate School is sponsoring ongoing monthly writing retreats through May 2018 hosted by the Office for Teaching and Learning (OTL) exclusively for doctoral students. An invited speaker will give a brief presentation at noon on topics related to graduate school and academic life. Coffee and lunch will be provided.
