Inaugural Transition to Practice Seminar receives praise from residents
Inaugural Transition to Practice Seminar receives praise from residents

On April 17, the Wayne State University School of Medicine Alumni Association hosted its first “Transition to Practice” seminar.  Residents from the Detroit Medical Center, Henry Ford, Beaumont and Crittenton hospitals enjoyed dinner and a presentation by Susan Sanford, a resident outreach specialist. The seminar was intended to provide practical information to help make the transition from residency to practice as smooth and seamless as possible. Topics covered included what to expect during a site interview, best practices for updating a CV and what to look for in employment contracts. Based on the overwhelmingly positive response from the attendees, this will be an annual event. If you are interested in participating in future seminars, please contact Nicole Vanbiesbrouck at nvanbies@med.wayne.edu.
