This free Black History Month event — presented by the Wayne State University Center for Latino/a and Latin American Studies and the Haitian Network Group of Detroit — features WSU professor Victor Figueroa from the Department of Classical and Modern Languages. The event, which will include a signing for Figueroa's book, Prophetic Visions of the Past: Pan-Caribbean Representations of the Haitian Revolution, will be held Feb. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the WSU Law School's Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, which is located at 471 W. Palmer.

The Wayne State University School of Social Work will host its 13th annual Diversity Lecture March 7 at 3 p.m. in the Law School's Spencer M. Partrich Auditorium, which is located at 471 W. Palmer. Teresa Méndez, M.S.W., LCSW-C, LICSW, will present the keynote address, "The Psychology of a City: Race, Violence and Community." This lecture is free and open to the public.
