Ph.D. Career Pathways Survey

All current Ph.D. students will receive a survey via email shortly as part of Wayne State's initiative in partnership with the Council of Graduate Schools (CGS) to support data collection about Ph.D. careers. Wayne State will use these data to better prepare our graduates for the 21st century job market. Fifty respondents will be randomly selected to receive $25 gift cards from the WSU Graduate School!

In a first, U.S. private sector employs nearly as many Ph.D.s as schools do

As more Ph.D.s aquire jobs outside academia, universities, including Wayne State, are partnering with institutions, such as the Coalition for Next Generation Life Science and the Council of Graduate Schools, to collect and disseminate data on Ph.D.s' career aspirations and outcomes to better prepare current and prospective students for the job market.
