The Division of Kinesiology, Health and Sports Studies, in the College of Education, is excited to announce the development of a new undergraduate minor and graduate certificate in Yoga and Mindfulness. Yoga includes the study of yoga poses and sequences, breath, philosophy, and meditation. Mindfulness includes meditation but also extends beyond that to a variety of practices that focus on present-moment awareness (mindful eating, mindful walking, etc.).
The Division intends to launch the new minor and certificate in Fall 2020. The minor will be 15 credits, which will include 3 new required courses (9 credits) in mindfulness and yoga and 6 additional elective credits selected from a menu of complementary classes from across the university.
