Southeastern Michigan Junior Science and Humanities Symposium    Southeastern Michigan Junior Science and Humanities Symposium  

The 56th annual Southeastern Michigan Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) will be held Friday, Feb. 28, in the McGregor Memorial Conference Center. JSHS is sponsored by The U.S. Army Educational Outreach Program. The primary aims of JSHS are to promote research and experimentation at the secondary school level and to recognize students for original research achievements.

Flint water drive  

The Black Student Union is holding its annual Flint water drive, collecting donations of bottled water for residents still without access to clean water. Donations will be accepted until March 21. To schedule drop-off donations, please call 313-577-5052.

Award-winning journalist Michele Norris, former longtime co-host of NPR’s All Things Considered, will share her experiences with race, culture and communication in a keynote lecture, “Eavesdropping on America's Conversation on Race,” at 2 p.m. on March 31 in the Student Center Ballroom. This event is free and open to the public.

Social Entrepreneurship Conference  

On April 3, the Wayne State University School of Social Work — along with the Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights, the Wayne State Business and Community Law Clinic, the Keith Students for Civil Rights, the Entrepreneurship and Business Law Society, and OptimizeWayne — will host the third annual Social Entrepreneurship Conference at the Law School at 8 a.m.
