Office of Housing & Residential Life - Wayne State University

Dear Campus Residents,

Today, we learned that a student in the Anthony Wayne Drive Apartments has tested positive for COVID-19. This student is currently in self-quarantine and we are working to safely move them to Atchison Hall tomorrow, where a floor has been reserved to quarantine students. As in every confirmed case, professionals are analyzing this patient's contacts, and will be reaching out to those who may have been exposed.

Please continue to take this threat seriously and exercise social distancing and other precautions recommended by the CDC. Monitor your health, and if you become ill or feel you have symptoms of COVID-19, it is essential that you contact the Campus Health Center immediately at 313-577-5041. If you have been exercising a self-quarantine, be sure to maintain discipline and forego opportunities to be around others, for their sake as well as yours.

We are doing all we can to ensure your safety and your ability to maintain your studies. We need your help to do this. Only with the cooperation of everyone involved can we continue to operate campus housing for all who need it during this critical time.

Sincerely,

Tim Michael
Associate Vice President and CHO
