Important information and requirements

  • The safety of our students, faculty and staff is our top priority, and the University has established a number of protocols intended to protect everyone in our community. More information is available on the University's COVID-19 Information page.
  • Before you come to campus, you MUST complete the University's Warrior Safe training. You will receive an email confirming your successful completion of the training.
  • Starting 48 hours before you plan to come to campus, and each day up to and including a day on which you come to campus, you MUST complete the University's Campus Daily Screener. This means if you are coming to campus on Tuesday to use the Law Library, you must complete the Campus Daily Screener on Sunday, Monday AND the Tuesday on which you plan to come to campus. Complete the Campus Daily Screener before you come to campus. Upon completion of the Campus Daily Screener, you will be emailed a QR code valid ONLY for that day. Tip: Download Wayne State’s mobile app for easy access to the Campus Daily Screener. Sync your WSU email to your phone to ensure you have your QR code available as needed.
  • The doors into the main Law School building, including the Keith Center, will NOT be open until further notice. If you need to access the main building (including the basement) for some reason, you must coordinate with a faculty or staff member to enter for an approved reason. ALL student services offices, including the Law School Records Office, the Office of Career and Professional Development, and the Law School Office of Student Affairs, are open and fully functioning remotely. Please do not hesitate to reach out via email for any help you need. Contact information for all administrative offices is available in the Law School directory.
  • The Law Library is NOT currently open to anyone in person. Beginning September 1, the Law Library will have a limited number of physically distanced study spaces available Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Once the Law Library opens, access will be limited to Wayne State University faculty, students and staff. You will have an opportunity to reserve a study seat online in advance of your arrival. All reference and research services are being provided online through the fall semester via chat, email, telephone and Zoom consultations. You can access these services through the Law Library’s website. The outside doors closest to the Law Library entrance (the doors under the open-air breezeway) will be unlocked while the Law Library is open. QR codes will be scanned before full access to the Law Library is permitted and you must display your OneCard. The Law Library is open to the entire University community. You are strongly encouraged to make your reservations for study space within the Law Library well in advance. A link to make reservations will be circulated soon.
  • To access the Law Library from Palmer you will need to walk around the back of the building and enter off of Gilmour Mall. Reference this map for details. The glass breezeway cannot be used as a cut-through.
  • No one will be permitted to enter the Law Library without displaying their OneCard and the QR code provided upon satisfactory completion of the Campus Daily Screener for the applicable day. The QR code must display the date when presented at the Circulation Desk.
  • Masks covering both nose and mouth MUST be worn at all times in all public places on campus, including inside the Law Library (even at your study space).
  • Physical distancing (keeping at least 6 feet from others) MUST be maintained at all times, including when you are attempting to enter any building on campus. This means that, due to the size and configuration of the restrooms in the Law School buildings, only one person may use any restroom at a time.
  • Eating is not permitted in the Law School or Law Library until further notice. If you are bringing water, please be sure to have a straw so you do not have to remove your mask. Water fountains are unavailable.
  • If you want to eat indoors while on campus, the Student Center is open (you will need your OneCard to enter) and has limited seating areas and a food court. Review the Student Center COVID-19 policies before going. When returning to the Law School, you will again have to present your QR code and OneCard at the Circulation Desk to enter the building.
  • Absolutely no meetings, including with professors, administrators, librarians, or fellow students, may be held in person in the Law School buildings. All meetings should be scheduled on Zoom or another remote platform.
