Wayne State University

Dear friends,

We are living in an unprecedented time of disruption and uncertainty. As we move toward recovery and new beginnings, it is important to recognize that this historic moment also provides opportunity to help shape the future — and being who and where we are, a public urban research university in the heart of Detroit, we can do just that.

Bold Moves is an initiative to stimulate big ideas at Wayne State that can be truly impactful to the university, Detroit, Michigan and the world. These will be projects and programs that may inform our next strategic plan and attract interest from philanthropists who want to be transformational with their giving.

Led by Vice President of Development and Alumni Affairs Susan E. Burns and Interim Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Laurie M. Lauzon Clabo, this effort is a campus-wide call for groundbreaking ideas. It is a call to blend your knowledge with inspiration. What would happen if funding were no object and you could collaborate with partners who help take your ideas to even higher levels? Ideas can come from anywhere and address anything. But they must be bold.

Details, criteria, answers to questions and more can be found at boldmoves.wayne.edu.

With your experience and creativity, Wayne State will grow ever stronger. I encourage you to stretch your imaginations and even the boundaries of what you feel may be realistic. That’s how big ideas are born — and how Bold Moves are made.

Sincerely,

M. Roy Wilson signature
