Computing & Information Technology - Wayne State University

Wayne State community:

The information technology (IT) consolidation project that President M. Roy Wilson announced on April 22, 2020, has begun and the migration of all IT functions under Wayne State University’s Computing and Information Technology (C&IT) department is underway. This consolidation project is focused on providing a consistent level of high quality IT support for all of campus. This includes enhanced research infrastructure, IT standardization for all classrooms, consistent security standards, and employee cross-training to provide multiple layers of support.

C&IT culture values trust and transparency, which is why we have created the WarriorIT consolidation project page at tech.wayne.edu/WarriorIT. Here, you will find the consolidation project goals, timeline, frequently asked questions, and any other project details as they are communicated.

Visit the WarriorIT Project Page

Part of this consolidation is a new organizational structure, which has been created to allow space for contribution and input from all levels. The consolidation will transition employees to fit the new C&IT top-level organization chart [PDF], effective on Monday, Nov. 2, 2020. To better understand how our units work together, view all C&IT organization charts at tech.wayne.edu/about/org-charts.

This consolidation allows C&IT to work even closer with the Wayne State community and we value your input. Our staff is working closely with your schools, colleges and departments to collaborate on how to best serve you during and after this transition.

All of us at C&IT greatly appreciate your patience and support as we continue working to provide all Wayne State students, faculty, staff, affiliates and guests with the best technology systems, services and support available. Questions or concerns regarding this project may be submitted at forms.wayne.edu/5f7f2f04e2d02.

Sincerely,
