Wayne State University

Dear colleagues,

It may seem hard to believe, but we are approaching the final weeks of the fall semester, and I'd like to share some of our plans for the coming months.

To continue maintaining health and safety, classes for the winter 2021 semester will largely be held in a format similar to the fall 2020 semester. Consistent with this decision, we ask that those who have been working effectively from home continue to do so for the winter semester. We will determine plans for spring/summer toward the end of the winter semester.

As we continue to maintain safe distancing, we will honor fall graduates on Dec. 15 during Wayne State University's virtual commencement ceremonies. Details will be available on the commencement website at wayne.edu/commencement, and we will do all we can to make it a memorable celebration of our students' achievements. Plans for spring commencement are underway and will be announced in the coming year.

Thank you for your diligence in adapting to a new environment, and for your continued support of Wayne State's mission. The changes enacted in response to the COVID-19 pandemic — and, most importantly, your adherence to them — have allowed us to keep the virus' spread on campus lower than in many parts of our state and nation. I remain enormously impressed by how our entire community has rallied around our students and each other. Let's continue this good work.

Regards,

M. Roy Wilson
