| Brian Cummings, PhD – a native Michigander and Wayne State alumnus – has been selected to serve as the next dean of the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, pending approval by the WSU Board of Governors. Dr. Cummings will assume his new role on Aug. 1, 2021. He comes home to Detroit from the University of Georgia, where he has served in increasingly leadership-driven roles since 2003. |
As Lyndsey Crosbie approached graduation from Wayne State’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program, she was optimistic about landing a job. Then came COVID-19 and PT clinics closed. But this ended up being a better scenario than Crosbie could have imagined. It gave her time and space to move into a new house with her husband Stephen, welcome daughter Emmalea to the world, and become a grassroots advocate for her industry through the Michigan chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). | |

On Wednesday, April 7, WSU Applebaum hosted Dr. Dayna Bowen Matthew, dean of the George Washington University Law School. After a warm introduction by President M. Roy Wilson, Dr. Matthew presented "A Lawyer's Prescription for Achieving Health Equity." A round of applause goes out to our esteemed guest speaker and to everyone who supported this important event, a revival of the college's annual Martin Barr-Stephen Wilson Lecture Series.
