Dear faculty and staff,

Over the past few months, we’ve seen the dramatic benefits of the COVID-19 vaccines. Since being approved in late 2020, these vaccines have proven crucial in preventing the spread of the virus and bringing an end to the pandemic.

As we prepare for our fall semester, we encourage all of our faculty and staff to get their COVID-19 vaccinations. This will help us safely return to campus and provide our students with the opportunity to enjoy the traditions and gatherings so vital to the Wayne State experience. To further encourage everyone to get vaccinated, we are announcing an exciting new incentive program.

Faculty and staff who upload a photo of their vaccine card between now and Aug. 29 will be entered into drawings for a variety of prizes, including grand prizes such as a free laptop, a 60-inch television and a year of paid parking! Here are the details:

Those who have already received their vaccine are also eligible to participate; you may enter once you’ve you had your first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or following your single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. You only need to submit your information once to be eligible. For rules and a list of prizes, visit Wayne State’s coronavirus website.

We are excited about our return to campus this fall. Getting your vaccine will go a long way toward protecting the health and safety of all in our community.
