Dean of Students Office - Wayne State University

Dear fellow Warriors:

Yesterday, an outside organization set up a display on our campus that was in no way consistent with the spirit, pride and values of Wayne State University. This organization’s display of antisemitic signage, which was set up without permission, referenced the Holocaust and was vulgar and reprehensible. Many expressed their concern and disgust over the presence of this group, and the Wayne State University Police Department removed them from campus. While such displays are allowed on public property, they are abhorrent and antithetical to our culture of diversity, equity and inclusion. Wayne State University does not and will not tolerate such displays of hate on our campus.

Please know that I stand with you to combat any and all forms of hate. If you ever encounter anything like this in our campus community, please notify me at doso@wayne.edu or complete our student complaint form. Our outstanding police department keeps us safe around the clock and can be reached at any time at 313-577-2222. For those in need of counseling support, the Office of Counseling and Psychological Services is available at 313-577-3398 or caps@wayne.edu

In Warrior spirit and pride,

David J. Strauss, Ph.D.
Dean of Students
