Dear Wayne State employees,

Please be aware that five-digit dialing (e.g. 7-4357 instead of 9-1-313-577-4357) may not be available as campus telephones are migrated to Microsoft Teams as a part of the Unified Communications project. As a workaround, please use full 12-digit dialing patterns (e.g. 9-1-313-577-4357) when calling other university lines.

• Users who have not been migrated and are still using Mitel desk phones can call other users who are also still using these phones via five-digit dialing.
• Users who have not been migrated (Mitel desk phones) can not call users who have been migrated to Teams via five-digit dialing.
• Since Teams is integrated with Office 365 and the university directory, users who have been migrated to Teams can use five-digit dialing to call either Teams users or physical phone users.
