Wayne State University

Greetings WSU students,

The last day to drop Fall 2023* classes with 100% tuition cancellation is MONDAY, September 11, 2023.

WSU does not cancel tuition due to non-attendance or non-payment. You must drop any classes for which you do not wish to be enrolled through the Registration Portal (registration.wayne.edu) by 11:59 p.m. September 11, 2023.

What if I have a hold?

If you have a hold and cannot drop classes, you must send your request to drop from your WSU e-mail account to registration@wayne.edu before 11:59 p.m. September 11, 2023

Do I need permission to drop a class?

International students, or students required to maintain full-time enrollment, may not be able to drop classes. International students should check with OISS before dropping/withdrawing.

What about undergraduate flat-rate tuition?

Undergraduate students registered for 12- 18 credits will not receive a tuition refund if they are still within the 12 - 18 credits for flat-rate tuition. Dropping below 12 credits will result in your tuition being reassessed at the per credit hour rate. You can estimate your tuition using the Tuition Calculator.

Can I drop a class after the deadline?

Starting September 12, you must submit your withdrawal request through Academica. Withdrawals are noted on your transcript with a W ("Official Withdrawal") mark. There is no tuition cancellation for withdrawing from a course.
