Michigan AHEC Scholar Bruke Abenet is a second-year resident at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker, M.D. School of Medicine Family Medicine Residency program. He is also part of the MIDOCS residency program, which is a state-funded program set up to expand graduate medical education residency positions in select specialties to recruit and retain physicians in underserved areas in the state of Michigan.

The Michigan AHEC Scholars Alumni Group is created for alumni of the Michigan AHEC Scholars Program. It allows former students to keep each other informed of their career path, to share ideas, resources and keep in touch.

The next AHEC Scholars Year 1 synchronous meeting will be held on March 14, 2024 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The next AHEC Scholars Year 2 synchronous meeting will be held on February 27, 2024 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Save the date: the Michigan AHEC Scholars Final Presentations and Recognition Ceremony will be held on April 25, 2024 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the WSU College of Nursing. Stay tuned for more information.
