GME hosts Diversity Symposium, welcomes interns, holds OSCE/OSHEs
I'm pleased to report that next Tuesday evening from 6-7 pm, GME will hold our third annual Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Symposium via Zoom. We sponsor this hourlong event for the benefit of students in the WSU School of Medicine as well as domestic and international medical schools who may be interested in learning more about diversity initiatives in the eight WSUGME residency programs: Anesthesiology, Dermatology, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Otolaryngology, Preventive Medicine, Transitional Year, and Urology. Program directors, residents, and GME Office leaders will be on hand to detail our programs’ commitment to building a diverse healthcare team that will serve a range of patient populations in both the Detroit metropolitan area and across the US. We encourage medical students from all walks of life who are passionate about delivering equitable, high-quality care and about becoming physician leaders with the skills to address healthcare disparities and improve patient safety.
