African American History in Detroit African American History in Detroit  

This virtual Feb. 2 event, featuring speaker Baba Jamon Jordan, will discuss Black history in Detroit. In the early 20th century, millions of African Americans relocated from the South to cities like Chicago and Detroit. They were often still met with racism, this time systemic. The event is ponsored by the Black Law Students Association.

On Feb. 5, award-winning radio journalist Michele Norris, former longtime co-host of NPR’s All Things Considered, will share her experiences with race, culture and communication. The virtual program begins at 1 p.m.
