Stars In-Person and Remote Appointment Availability The Stars 2.0 team has now launched the ability to create "In-person" as well as "Remote" advising availability in your Stars 2.0 calendar. This is great news for advisors who will work from home on some days, as well as for those advisors who wish to offer both options for students when they are working on campus. All previously scheduled availability and previously scheduled appointments have been converted to "Remote." Please see the training materials posted in the link below and reach out to your school/college training team (or Ken and me) if you need any support. |
Advisor Resources and FAQs Regarding Covid Safety Mandates The link below provides current campus resources, websites, and advisor/student FAQs that can be helpful to you when working with students around the topic of the WSU mask and vaccine mandates. The FAQs are specific to commonly asked student questions. The websites and other resources at the top provide broader information and useful links for students and advisors. This document has been reviewed by the Campus Health Committee and the Office of the Provost. |
WSU Profile and Pronoun Updates Starting Fall 2021 all Wayne State University students and employees have the option to update their identifying pronouns in their WSU profile. Click the link below for a webpage dedicated to pronoun use, awareness, and resources. Instructions to help update pronouns can be found here: Name and address change. You can update your pronouns as often as you need, or opt out of updating your pronouns entirely. In the same profile system, you can also change your display name in university systems. | | Advising Matters | Gen Ed Petition Process The General Education Petition process is available for students seeking a waiver or substitution for a university-level General Education requirement and is processed through the Provost office. Students must meet with advisors to discuss their case(s) before the form is submitted. Exceptions for general education must be entered in DegreeWorks by the Provost's office only. Use the form found here and in the title to submit a waiver request. If you have any questions about general education waivers, please contact Marlena Frontera at m.frontera@wayne.edu. | | | Upcoming Training | | Fall 21 Introduction to Academic Advising This fall, the ATA's "Introduction to Academic Advising" training program will be offered in a hybrid format with modules offered both virtually and online through Canvas.
