"Virtual Coffee Chats: In Depth Conversation with Medical Alumni Board Members"

This month’s coffee hour will be an in-depth conversation with the leaders of the WSU alumni. Engage with 2020-2022 Medical Alumni Board of Governors alumni board members, as they discuss their current leadership roles and why they continue to be Warrior Strong! Feel free to bring any questions that you might have regarding this topic or other specific areas of interest.

Learning Objectives:

  • To educate the faculty on mechanisms by which the WSU Medical Alumni Board of Governors helps improve teaching of students and trainees
  • To educate the faculty on mechanisms by which the WSU Medical Alumni Board of Governors helps improve  scholarly skills of our faculty
  • To identify teaching and scholarly activities where our faculty can partner with the WSU Medical Alumni
  • To enhance patient care by developing collaborative programs between our faculty and WSU SOM alumni serving as voluntary faculty
  • To advance the teaching and scholarly activities of the  Wayne State University School of Medicine's alumni serving as voluntary faculty

Guest Speakers

Steve Daveluy

Steven Daveluy, M.D., Dr. Daveluy is an associate professor and program director at Wayne State University.  He earned a bachelor in science from Michigan State University.  He completed medical school and his dermatology residency at Wayne State University.    He is an active member of the WSUSOM Alumni Foundation, supporting the students in serving as a positive force for change in Southeast Michigan and the field of medicine. 

 

 

Jack Folbe

Jack Folbe, M.D., Dr. Jack Folbe is a graduate of WSU-SOM Class of '89 and is a board-certified anesthesiologist. He completed his residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, IL. He practiced at Central Dupage Hospital in Winfield, IL before joining the staff at William Beaumont Hospital where he has been for the past 27 years. 

 

 

 

Patrice Harold

Patrice Harold, M.D., Dr. Patrice Harold received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Wayne State University. She obtained her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1989. She did her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hutzel Womens Hospital in Detroit Medical Center.  She currently is the Chief of OB/GYN at Sinai Grace Hospital.

 

 

 

Sheila Ray

Sheila Ray, M.D., Dr. Sheila Ray is a graduate of the WSU-SOM Class of 1987 and is a board certified Otolaryngologist. Dr. Ray attended the University of Michigan and received her BS in Zoology and Psychology. She received an MS in Biophysics from Wayne State University and then her medical degree from WSU-SOM in 1987. Dr. Ray has held many leadership positions including Vice-Chief of Staff at Beaumont-Trenton for 16 years.
