Office of Faculty Affairs and Development - Wayne State University

a progress bar loading the year 2023

And just like that, it's Fall 2022...

Welcome back to campus for Fall 2022! We are excited to see so many of you in person. In August, we hosted department chairs at a seminar, welcomed some of our new colleagues at New Faculty Orientation, got to know our new Academic Leadership Academy cohort, and greeted many students moving in. Phew! Given the uncertainty of the last few years, it was a refreshingly joyful way to start the semester.

As we feel our way forward in September and beyond, we want to let you know that we are here to help and share some of the resources and programming we're preparing for the first months of Fall 2022.

Coming up this semester: Moving from Associate to Full Professor

Coming up later this semester, we'll partner with WSU GEARS to run a series of workshops to provide Associate Professors with tools to support their pursuit of promotion to Professor. All associate professors are invited to attend, regardless of the number of years post-tenure. Participants will be grouped into peer cohorts with others who are at a similar career stage (i.e., a similar number of years since tenure) to facilitate networking and peer support outside the workshop. Workshop sessions will be a combination of in-person and Zoom, along with separate working cohort conversations (to be set by each cohort).
