Moving from Associate to Full Professor

We all know that there is a significant decrease in support and mentoring once you've achieved tenure, and WSU wants to help keep our faculty from falling off that cliff. To support that goal, the Office of Faculty Development and WSU-GEARS are working together on a career planning workshop designed to provide Associate Professors with tools to support their pursuit of promotion to Professor.

All associate professors are welcome, regardless of the number of years post-tenure. We hope you'll consider joining in even if you feel that you are on track to make full – your support will mean a lot to your peers. Participants will be grouped into peer cohorts with others at a similar career stage to facilitate networking and peer support outside the workshop. They will complete a series of activities prior to each session to promote discussion and progress.

Workshop sessions will be a combination of in-person and Zoom, along with separate working cohort conversations. We encourage faculty to attend as many sessions as possible to benefit the most from this workshop series.
