Leah Robinson, Ph.D., is the Director of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access (IDEA) in the School of Medicine at Wayne State University. A performance improvement specialist, Dr. Robinson created and managed retention and intervention programs for undergraduate, post-degree, and graduate student populations including McNair Scholars, first-generation college, athletes, probation, summer bridge, medical, and second language learners. She held academic staff positions in the College of Education, Department of Music, Academic Success Center, Federal TRIO programs, and Graduate School at Wayne State University. Her international work experience includes serving as Instructor and Advisor in Abu Dhabi, UAE and Curriculum Coordinator in Doha, Qatar. Dedicated to student success, Dr. Robinson leverages teaching, advising, and coaching experience with various student populations to better accommodate the demands for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and classroom. This year, she will joining Cohort 7 of the Detroit Equity Action Lab (DEAL). Dr. Leah Robinson is a native Detroiter who holds a B.A. in English and Education from the University of Michigan, a M.A. in Educational Psychology from Eastern Michigan University, an Ed.S. in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University, and a Ph.D. in Learning Design and Technology from Wayne State University. She also completed extensive coursework in cultural anthropology, Swahili, and Arabic and is a National Diversity Council Certified Diversity Professional. She loves to travel, cook, dance, learn, and laugh.
