Please join Wayne State University archaeologists at the Hamtramck Historical Museum Nov. 12 at noon to learn about recent excavations in Hamtramck. This all-ages event is free and open to the public.

Addressing Food Justice and Environmental Justice through Culturally Grounded and Land-Based Interventions  

On Nov. 17, the Wayne State University School of Social Work will kick off its three-part environmental justice series with an interactive session that examines connections between food justice and environmental justice. This event will be led by keynote speaker Michael Spencer, Ph.D., University of Washington presidential term professor in social work and director of Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander and oceanic affairs at the Indigenous Wellness Research Institute.

On Dec. 2, the School of Social Work will host its fourth annual social entrepreneurship conference as the second event in the environmental justice series. This year's conference will be held in person and center on the intersection of food production, distribution, retail operations, social innovation and enterprise.
