Winter 2023 Promotion and tenure seriesPromotion and Employment Security Status (ESS) for Academic StaffJoin us from noon-1 p.m. Monday, Apr. 3, for an overview of the promotion and Employment Security Status (ESS) processes for academic staff, followed by a panel of academic staff who recently completed each process. We'll go over how both processes are completed, the materials needed for packets, what to expect throughout, and how to prepare your professional record for promotion packets, after which the panel will be available to address attendees' questions.
Promotion and Tenure for Faculty in the HumanitiesJoin us from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 5, for a workshop on promotion and tenure for faculty in the humanities. Learn more about the Academic Leadership AcademyInstitutions need leaders at every level. We know that many of you have already assumed leadership roles, perhaps informal, possibly with little to no preparation. The Academic Leadership Academy (ALA) was created to offer leadership development to full-time faculty and academic staff who often do not have the opportunity to engage in leadership training and mentoring before taking on formal or informal leadership roles. Applications to next year's ALA cohort are open through April 7. If you'd like to learn more, we're holding an informal open house-style virtual Q&A session with ALA Steering Committee members and ALA alums at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 31. Participants will also learn how to use an equity lens to reflect on their teaching practices to ensure that they are grounded in equity and support the needs of students with minoritized identities.
