| Paradise: Myth of a Liberal North On March 9, from noon to 5 p.m at the Elaine L. Jacob Gallery, Wayne State will present the art series Paradise: Myth of a Liberal North, which is centered around the systematic destruction of Black space in the early half to mid 20th century in the United States. Using archived image from Detroit's own Black Bottom and Paradise Valley this work layers history, geography, social relations, and the present together. Laying them next to each other to create an image that is not only wholly of Detroit, but also America, using Detroit as a point of study. |
