During this year's Wayne State University Tribute to Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we recognized the 60th anniversary of his first delivering the iconic “I Have a Dream” speech in Detroit. This Saturday, June 24, at 10 a.m., the Detroit Branch of the NAACP will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the 1963 Freedom Walk down Woodward Avenue that preceded Dr. King’s speech in Detroit. The march will begin at Woodward Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and end at Hart Plaza. RSVP online.
