The Wayne State University School of Medicine Office Women in Medicine and Science (WIMS) welcomes all members of our community to join us for a special interactive discussion: 

Thyroid Eye Disease: From the Eyelid to the Retina

Please join us for a special presentation about eye disease.  Covering proptosis, eyelid edema, conjunctival swelling, retinal folds, optic disc edema and more.  This presentation is designed for providers across specialties and will include how the iPhone camera can help us and will include some essentials for female providers and patients.

Gloria Wu

Gloria Wu MD is a graduate of Harvard University, Columbia University, Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons.  She completed her General Surgery Internship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, then her Ophthalmology Residency at Cornell-Columbia University Medical Center, Retina-Vitreous Fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary at Harvard Medical School. She is an author of three textbooks on Retina and Ophthalmology.  She is adjunct faculty at University of California San Francisco School of Medicine, Department of Ophthalmology, Adjunct  Associate Clinical Professor Tufts University School of Medicine, President-Elect of Santa Clara County Medical Association, a member organization of 4000 physicians in Northern California. She serves as an elected Delegate-at-large member to the Women Physicians Section of the AMA, serves on the national board of the American Medical Women's Association. Her hobbies are tennis, painting and creative writing.  Her podcast is Doctorstakethemic. Her youtube channel is Healthtalk  Gloria Wu.
