Hello all students,
Flu Shot Season is almost here! Please see the email below from the Campus Health Center regarding the upcoming flu shot clinics at the School of Medicine and around campus. Please see the “scheduling notes” and “appointment day reminders” to ensure a smooth experience.
The SOM Flu Shot Clinic dates are as follows: Monday, September 11th Tuesday, September 12th Thursday, September 14th Friday, September 15th
Monday, October 16th Tuesday, October 17th Friday, October 20th
All School of Medicine Flu Shot Clinics will be held in Margherio Conference Room in Scott Hall. If these dates do not work for you, please review the additional clinic dates at other locations around campus. The flu shot is of no cost to WSU students through the clinics. It is not required that you receive your flu shot through the WSU clinics. However, no matter where the vaccine was given, it is the students' responsibility to ensure that WSU and MD Health Records are in receipt of your flu shot documentation for the current flu season. Click here to schedule your flu shot appoinment. As a note, the scheduling system does not include multiple locations, so be sure you are signing up for the correct date based on the location in which you would like to receive your flu shot. You must select "Wayne State Flu Clinic" as the location.
IMPORTANT Submission of Documentation: As a reminder, flu shot documenation should be submitted, by the student, to BOTH MD Health Records and main campus to satisfy both requirements. Follow this link to submit your documenation to main campus. The deadline for flu shot documentation for both MD Health Records and main campus will be November 15th, 2023. The MD Health Records Office will no longer be accepting flu shot documentation via email. Thus, if you have already sent your 2023 flu shot documentation to the MD Health Records email, it will not be processed. You will be required to upload the documentation into your CastleBranch portal. M1 students can utilize their CastleBranch account to submit their flu shot documentation along with the other onboarding immunization requirements. In the coming weeks, M2-M4 students will receive information to create an account and begin uploading their documentation into CastleBranch. If you receive your flu shot prior to receiving access to CastleBranch, please hold onto it until your account has been created. All 2023 Flu Shot documentation will be uploaded and processed through CastleBranch.
