It is now possible to register for your Step 1 examination. You can visit our website for assistance with starting the process. 

We have reviewed the availability of Prometrics Test Centers for the Step 1 examination. For our test window, the closest sites with availability are Lansing and Toledo, OH. In February, there is limited availability in Ann Arbor in the first half of the month. There is also availability on certain dates in Fort Wayne, IN and London, ON.

We have reached out to Prometrics, and they indicated that additional dates may be added to sites that are closer (Troy, Ann Arbor and Detroit) for our testing window. We recommend to all students to continue checking for openings at closer sites. We will continue checking as well. Based on guidance from the Class of 2025, many students were able to reschedule their site to a closer site in October or November as slots opened up. There is no charge for location/date changes if it is 46 days before the test date.

It’s important to consider that you may have to travel a short distance for your examination. In this case, we recommend that you consider staying close to your test center the night before to alleviate the stress of an early morning drive, weather issues, etc.

If you are a financial aid recipient, and you are scheduled to take an examination at a site where it may make sense to stay the night prior, you can sit down with a Financial Aid counselor to determine if an adjustment can be made to your Financial Aid package (note: not all requests can be approved). Please wait to do this until you have selected a date and site, and after it has been determined that there were no additional dates added to closer sites.
